Excerpt from "USS Lassen Highlights Asian Pacific American Heritage Month"

YOKOSUKA, Japan (NNS) -- A Vietnamese-American officer assumed command of the forward deployed Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Lassen (DDG 82) April 23 in a ceremony that served as lead-in for the upcoming celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.

In 1975, as a young boy, Cmdr. H.B. Le and his family fled South Vietnam during the fall of Saigon, following the end of the Vietnam War. Almost three-and-one-half decades later; he assumed command of the destroyer and her crew forward-deployed to Yokosuka, Japan.

Le, a Vietnamese-American, took command of Lassen April 23, a week before the start of Asian/Pacific Heritage Month, which celebrates diversity within the United States. As part of that celebration, the Navy honors its many service members of Asian and Pacific Island descent.

When we are grown up?

Are we grown up because age? Maybe. Maybe not.  At 18 years old, we have the right to vote. But at that age, we also have duty to defense our country. The document When You Become 18 prepared by State Bar of California is worth to read. At 21, we are allow to drink the beer. At 25, we are qualify to run for congress, ready to practice law if you complete law education and pass the bar exam. Near the 30, you are ready to become a Medical Doctor or a priest.

On the other end, some over thirty years old person still think, act, speak as a children. They did not clean up their mess in the company lunch room. Someone thought public assistance is their parent's money. On my previous entries, I mentioned a smart young boy and a young lady.

So, when we are grown up?
