Cuối năm tính sổ

Tuần này, tuần cuối năm Phụng Vụ của người Công Giáo, là những ngày tháng cuối của năm Dương Lich. Hôm Chúa Nhật nghe Dụ Ngôn Các Nén Bạc qua Tin Mừng Chúa Giêsu Kitô theo Thánh Matthêu, rồi đến thứ Tư nghe Dụ Ngôn Mười Nén Bạc qua Tin Mừng Chúa Giêsu Kitô theo Thánh Luca làm mình bâng khuâng tự hỏi. Nếu Chúa gọi mình hôm nay:

• Con có giữ gìn sức khoẻ của con? 
• Con có dùng đôi mắt để nhìn, để đọc điều tốt? 
• Con có dùng hai tai để lắng nghe người khác? để nghe điều hay lẽ phải? 
• Con có dùng miệng lưỡi để ca tụng Thiên Chúa, khen ngợi người khác hay chỉ để than vản, chê bai, tán dóc? 
• Hai mươi bốn tiếng đồng hồ mỗi ngày, con dùng như thế nào? Con có dành thời gian cho gia đình?
• Con có dùng trí óc mình để suy nghĩ và có ích lợi cho người khác? 
• Con có dùng hai tay để lao động tạo ra của cải cho con và cho người khác hay chỉ để chơi game? 
• Con có dùng hai chân để đi đến với Chúa, đến trường học, sở làm, người đau yếu bệnh tật hay chỉ đến nơi giải trí?

Sống đừng so đo tiền nhiều hay ít, quan trọng là tâm tình có tốt hay không

Đời người, thân thể mình là quý giá nhất, nhất định đừng thẹn với mình. Tâm tình mình là trân quý nhất, nhất định đừng phá hỏng. Sinh mệnh của mình là trân quý nhất, nhất định đừng lãng phí…

Con người sinh ra có người số mệnh tốt, có xe, có nhà, còn có tiền. Có người sinh ra đã là mệnh mỏng, không ai để ý, không ai chăm sóc, không ai dựa vào. Thế nhưng, bất luận sau này như thế nào, cũng đừng nên xem nhẹ bản thân mình. 

Kiên trì nhiều hơn, nỗ lực nhiều hơn thì nhất định sẽ đưa mình đến nơi cao nhất. Bất luận tình huống gì cũng đừng bỏ cuộc, sự đời thay đổi vô thường, rồi sẽ có một ngày ta thành người xuất sắc.

Có tiền chưa hẳn trên mặt có nụ cười, nổi khổ của họ ta không thể nào biết được .

Không có tiền chưa chắc mỗi ngày đều không tốt, niềm hạnh phúc của ta là tự tâm ta biết rõ.

Ăn mặc sang trọng thì đã sao, bình bình giản dị thì như thế nào? Chỉ cần ta biết đủ, thì cái gì cũng không thiếu.

Áo gấm cơm ngọc có thể làm gì, trà thô cơm nhạt thì có làm sao? Chỉ cần ta vui vẻ, thì cái gì cũng không thiếu.

Tiền là gì?
Tiền là do người kiếm được, cũng là để cho người tiêu xài. Ăn uống tiết kiệm để dành nhiều tiền, thấy món đồ mình thích cũng không dám mua, sống như vậy thiếu hay không thiếu? Vất vả kiếm tiền thật nhiều,cuối cùng tiền còn người mất, sống như vậy có đáng giá hay không?

Nhà là cái gì?
Nhà là nơi để ta ở, không phải là gánh nặng, mỗi tháng còn phải trả nợ, sống như vậy áp lực thật lớn. Sống mà lúc nào cũng phải để tâm vào những thứ đó, như vậy trong tâm có mệt hay không? Nhà không cần lớn hay nhỏ, chỉ cần thoải mái dễ chịu. Nhà không quan trọng ở vị trí tốt hay xấu, mà chỉ cần có hoa có cỏ.

Xe là gì ?
Xe là phương tiện đi lại của con người, không phải là thứ để lấy ra khoe khoang. Ngồi xe điện, không hẳn là không có tiền gửi ngân hàng.
Mua xe sang trọng chưa hẳn là không đi vay ngân hàng. Có loại xe gì không quan trọng, quan trọng là không nợ nần. Mua xe gì không quan trọng, quan trọng là đi được an toàn.

Cuộc sống là gì?
Cuộc sống không nhất định là phải đại phú đại quý, mà là cần sống sao cho có ý nghĩa.

Hạnh phúc là gì?
Hạnh phúc không nhất định phải so sánh với người khác, mà là chậm rãi dùng tâm cảm nhận.

Vui vẻ là cái gì?
Vui vẻ không nhất định do người khác tạo nên, mà là cần chân thành từ nội tâm mình.

Đời người, thân thể mình là quý giá nhất, nhất định đừng thẹn với mình. Tâm tình mình là trân quý nhất, nhất định đừng phá hỏng. Sinh mệnh của mình là trân quý nhất, nhất định đừng lãng phí.

Our Life Like a Day

Our life like a day with family. When we born into this world, our family is there. In the morning, when we wake up, we wake up with our family. All of us leaving the house to study, work, play, ...

In the evening, we are back home to see each others: father, mother, children, husband, wife, brothers, and sisters. So, when we leave this world, our family is the one to say goodbye.

Begin and end, we are in a family.

My Development Computer 2017

Here are the essential tools I put in my seven years old personal laptop for my application development during evening and weekend as of July 2017. Most of them are open source and free. My other development machine at work is much better and powerful than this (Intel i7 CPU and 16GB RAM).

1. Mozilla Firefox
2. Google Chrome
3. Notepad++ is a free  source code text editor.
4. WinMerge for compare and merge files.
5. 7-Zip (Compress and decompress files)
6. KeePass the free, open source, light-weight and easy-to-use password manager. I don't need to remember password for each web sites or applications.
7. Python 3.6  This programming language is powerful and fast. According to TIOBE Index for July 2017, Python is one of top five popular programming languages. 
8. LibreOffice is a powerful free, open source and cross platform office suite. I used it on other PC Windows, my MacBook Pro, and Ubuntu Linux.
9. SQL Server 2016 SP1 Developer Edition SQL Server Developer Edition is a free download for Visual Studio Dev Essentials members and for development and testing only, and not for production environments or for use with production data per Microsoft SQL Server blog
10. Microsoft Visual Studio Community 2017 (Free version for an individual developer or small business, not for corporate)
11. Microsoft Visual Studio Code. This is free, open source, and runs everywhere. It loaded faster than Visual Studio.
12. Git for Windows. It's a free and open source distributed version control system.
13. Node.js® is a JavaScript runtime built on Chrome's V8 JavaScript engine.
14. VLC is a free and open source cross-platform multimedia player and framework that plays most multimedia files as well as DVDs, Audio CDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols.
15. Greenshot is the most awesome tool for making screenshots you can get on your Windows PC. It's is better than built-in application Snipping Tools. I can blackout or obscure portion of screen easily.
16. FileZilla® Open source FTP software.

In addition to C# and Microsoft SQL Server, I will spend my spare time to work on Python and Node.js.

Check for Conexant Audio Driver Keylogger

Even you don't have HP computer, to be safe, you should make a quick check to see your computer have Conexant log file: MicTray.log or any file name begin with MicTray

Windows as a service

I did not know about that until I received an email from US-CERT few days ago regarding to Microsoft Ending Security Updates for Windows 10 version 1507. I thought Windows 10 released two years ago should have couple years before ending support like Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7... This surprise led me to do more research. Quick guide to Windows as a service had a clear explanation.

So I went to check my Windows 10 version. It was 1511.

To be safe, it should be upgrade to the latest version. But, I got this error: "There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x800705b4)". It took me at least five hours to research for the solution.

Finally, my goal to upgrade achieved after I downloaded Microsoft Windows Update Assistant to help me update to the latest version of Windows 10. Another three hours to upgrade from Windows 10 version 1511 to Windows 10 version 1703 (build 15063). Well, my familiar terminal window "Command" was hidden and Window PowerShell is a default.

Cloud Services

Cloud services actually is a new “marketing” name for servers hosting with some new features. Nothing new. Instead you contracted AT&T, Verizon, or other … to host your servers, or lease their equipment depend on your budget, network infrastructure architect (100% servers on premise or 25% servers on premise or 50% servers on premise with the rest of server host somewhere else),  you use AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, …

A sinner's playlist

A Prayer on the Inauguration of a President

This prayer, from the U.S. edition of the Book of Blessings (no. 1965), is an adaptation of the prayer for the Church and for civil authorities which was composed by Archbishop John Carroll for use on the occasion of the inauguration of George Washington in 1789.

Almighty and eternal God,
you have revealed your glory to all nations.
God of power and might, wisdom and justice,
through you authority is rightly administered,
laws are enacted, and judgment is decreed.

Assist with your spirit of counsel and fortitude
the President of these United States,
that his administration may be conducted in righteousness,
and be eminently useful to your people over whom he/she presides.
May he encourage due respect for virtue and religion.
