Resolution for 2015

Try to do my best what Pope Francis suggested to Vatican employees on December 22, 2014.

Below is the English translation by ZENIT:

It was pride that transformed angels into devils; it is humility that renders men like the angles (Saint Augustine).
...
Therefore I exhort you:
  1. To take care of your spiritual life, your relation with God, because this is the vertebral column of all that we do and of all that we are. A Christian who does not nourish himself with prayer, the Sacraments and the Word of God, inevitably withers and dries up. Take care of the spiritual life;
  2. To take care of your family life, giving your children and your dear ones not only money but, above all, time, attention and love;
  3. To take care of your relations with others, transforming the faith into life and words into good works, especially towards the neediest;
  4. To take care of your speech, purifying your tongue from offensive words, from vulgarities and from worldly decadent language;
  5. To take care of wounds of the heart with the oil of forgiveness, forging persons who have wounded us and medicating the wounds we have caused others;
  6. To take care of your work, completing it with enthusiasm, humility, competence, passion, with a spirit that is able to thank the Lord;
  7. To rid yourselves of envy, concupiscence, hatred and negative sentiments that devour our interior peace and transform us into destroyed and destructive persons;
  8. To rid ourselves of rancor that leads us to revenge, and of sloth that leads us to existential euthanasia, of pointing the finger that leads us to pride, of constant complaining that leads us to despair. I know that sometimes, to keep one’s job, there is talk of someone, to defend oneself. I understand these situations, but that way does not end well. In the end we will all be destroyed among ourselves, and this we must not do, it is of no use. Rather, we should ask the Lord for the wisdom to be able to bite our tongue in time, not to say insulting words, which then leave your mouth bitter;
  9. To take care of weak brothers: I have seen many beautiful examples among you in this, and I thank you, congratulations! Namely, take care of the elderly, the sick, the hungry, the homeless and strangers because we shall be judged on this;
  10. To take care that Holy Christmas is never a feast of commercial consumerism, of appearance and of useless gifts, or of superfluous waste, but that it is the feast of joy of receiving the Lord in the Crib and in the heart,
To take care -- to take care of so many things, each one of us can think: “What is the thing I must take care of most?” To think this: “Today, I will take care of this.” However, above all take care of the family! The family is a treasure; children are a treasure. A question that young parents can ask themselves: “Do I have time to play with my children, or am I always busy, busy, and have no time for the children?” I leave you with that question. To play with the children: it is so lovely. And this is to sow the future.

Visual Studio Community

My wish become true. Few years ago, I suggested Microsoft should give a developer a free IDE development tools. Apple gives developer XCode and many developers using Eclipse for Java and Android development. Now, Microsoft joins the trend: involving more on Open Source development and give developers a great tool Visual Studio Community 2013, a full professional edition of Visual Studio 2013.

I love it.

As Apple gave Mac Users a free upgrade on OS X Mavericks (v10.9) and OS X Yosemite (v10.10), I guess Microsoft will do the same with Windows 10. Let see...

How to Install Windows 10 Technical Preview on Oracle VirtualBox Virtual Machine

I'm enjoy learning a new thing everyday. To learn more about Windows 10, I'm using Oracle VirtualBox Virtual Machine to install. Since VirtualBox 4.3.16 Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack (VirtualBox Guest Addition) not work with Windows 10 yet, I cannot see a full screen and using a shared folder. Hope the next version of VirtualBox will work well with Windows 10

15 Years Microsoft Certified Professional

I became a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) 15 years ago. At that time, I took the 70-175 exam "Designing and Implementing Distributed Applications with Microsoft Visual Basic 6" twice. It was not an easy test.
Here is the book I used to prepare.

The Power of Prayer

Believe it or not, from my own experience since 1973, GOD listened to my prayer and saved me many times.

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7)

Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive.” (Matthew 21:22)

Jesus told him, “Go your way; your faith has saved you.” (Mark 10:52)

Jesus said to him, “‘If you can!’ Everything is possible to one who has faith.” (Mark 9:23)

He said to them, “This kind can only come out through prayer.” (Mark 9:29)

And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” (John 14:13)

“Elijah was a human being like us; yet he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain upon the land. Then he prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the earth produced its fruit.” (James 5:17-18)

How to mount an ISO image file on Windows 7

There is a free unsupported utility from Microsoft ( http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=38780 ) called Virtual CD-ROM Control Panel that enables users of Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 to mount ISO disk image files as virtual CD-ROM drives.

I downloaded it, unzipped, moved driver to Windows System folder, configured it and attempted to use. Finally, remove it from my test computer.

Next, go to http://www.slysoft.com/en/virtual-clonedrive.html to get SlySoft Virtual Clone Drive, a freeware. After installed it, I can open the ISO image disk file from Windows Explorer. Virtual Clone Drive is easy to install and use.
