Is It Safe To Store Passwords In Browser?

I don't think so. It's convenient to save password to browser so you can access to the site quickly. However, there many issues.

If the browser, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari, Opera,... has vulnerability, people can get your login and password stored in your browser. The browser alway a first target for hackers to explore the weakness. Second, if someone using your computer, he or she can see your password. Third, I have more than one account for a particular web site,  I need erase the default username to type the other username to get in. I don't like that.

I'm used to type my login and password and NEVER using cookies to memorize my user name or login. This practice is good when I'm in my own office and at home. When I login to check my email using my laptop in public place such as library, class room, cafeteria,... I'm feel incomportable. Someone behind or next to me can see what I type? Solution: Type fast, use longer password and KeePass application.

What should you do when your accelator stuck?

First thing first: Don't panic.

1. Apply your brakes and hold it.
2. Shift transmission to N (neutral).
3. Pull off the road cautiously.
4. Turn off engine and shift to P

In my own opinion: Stop driving a Toyota recall car. Don't follow too close the car in front of you. Don't drive too fast.

Southern California Code Camp

Last weekend, I spent two days at Southern California Code Camp at California State University, Fullerton. Every year, since 2006 I guessed, I came to this Code Camp to meet my fellow developers, to recharge my enthusiasm for technology, to learn new things and refresh my brain. This year, I attended all four sessions about mobile applications. Three of them were Android programming. Besides those mobile application sessions, I enjoyed the SQL, C# sessions. The cost to attend this event is FREE.

New "Move Over" Traffic Law for Californian

According to California Department of Transportation:

Sacramento –Caltrans wants the public to know about a new law signed by the governor that requires motorists to move over or slow down when they see a Caltrans vehicle flashing warning lights.

The new law, Senate Bill 240 (State Senator Roderick Wright), adds Caltrans vehicles displaying flashing amber warning lights to the list of vehicles for which motorists must slow down and, if safe, move over to a lane not immediately adjacent to the stationary vehicle.

Haiti Update: CRS response continues...we need your help

January 16, 2010

Dear Viet,

We wanted to update you on the situation in Haiti and how Catholic Relief Services is responding. Almost immediately following the earthquake, CRS began delivering lifesaving supplies, including food and water, to desperate survivors. The supplies were already in place in CRS' Port-au-Prince warehouse.

"We are fortunate to have had water in our warehouse," says Karel Zelenka, country representative for CRS Haiti. "We also trucked in family food kits from Les Cayes."

CRS has a staff of 313 on the ground, with more personnel arriving daily. CRS Haiti's headquarters building was damaged but did not collapse. Until its structural integrity is assured, aid workers are working and sleeping outside in tents or cars.

Additional food will arrive soon. "Fifteen hundred metric tons of wheat and oil will arrive in port shortly," says Schuyler Thorup, Regional Director for CRS Latin America. "We will distribute it immediately."

In the neighboring Dominican Republic, CRS is preparing food packages to feed 50,000 people. The packages are five-gallon buckets loaded with ready-to-eat foods that don’t need to be cooked. CRS is also readying water storage containers, water purification tablets, hygiene kits, cookware and plastic sheeting in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

But we can’t do this without your help. We are asking you to please support our efforts to feed and shelter the earthquake victims in Haiti. Your help is urgently needed. Please donate now.

The Blind Girl

I received this story by email. I post it here instead of forward to others. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

There was a blind girl who hated herself because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She told her boyfriend, 'II f I could only see the world, I will marry you.'

One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages came off, she was able to see everything, including her boyfriend.

He asked her,'Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?' The girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn't expected that. The thought of looking at them the rest of her life led her to refuse to marry him.

Her boyfriend left her in tears and days later wrote a note to her saying: 'Take good care of your eyes, my dear, for before they were yours, they were mine.'

This is how the human brain often works when our status changes. Only a very few remember what life was like before, and who was always by their side in the most painful situations.
